New Portfolio, 11 New Blogsters, and Recent Buy

                                          Fall River, MA. Battleship Cove
  1. I recently opened an account with Loyal3 in order to reduce the cost of buying stocks. I can now make as many purchases as I want without having to worry about commission fees. Yes, I am limited to about 55 stocks to choose from at Loyal3 but this doesn't bother me because they offer good companies I would like to add to my portfolio. I added a new tab called Loyal3 which will include my portfolio and weekly updates. I want to personally thank Starting From Zero for sharing his thoughts on how Loyal3 works. A gentleman named Roger also left a comment on my Recent Buy - Dr. Pepper Snapple article. He was kind enough to share how Loyal3 handles dividends.
  2. I have updated my blogsters page because I have come across a bunch of new blogs with great information to help me on my journey. If you would like to be added to the list just send me a comment and I would be glad to add you. The following 11 blogsters have been added to the list:    Dividend Epiphany
    Dividend Swan
    My Dividend Pipeline
    Div Saver
    My Dividend Journey
    Asset-Grinder
    My Dividend Growth
    FF Dividend
    The Passive Income Earner
    Road Map 2 Retire
    FF Fighter

  1. Hi DM,

Your blog is great to read for me, because you are in the starting phase of your DGI adventure as well. If you're able to save about 50% of your active income, DGI is a lot 'easier' (or should I say faster..?). However, it seems you and I are not able to do that as of now. That's why I can relate to this blog a lot.

    Happy to follow your progress.
Please add me to your blogroll if you find my blog interesting.

    Have a great day. DfS

    1. DFS,
I noticed that you are from the Netherlands, so I wanted to congratulate you and your country with the recent victory against Chile! I am glad you enjoy reading my blog. I starting investing at the beginning of this year and still have a long way to go. Currently I am not able to save 50% of my earnings but I am looking to cut down on my expenses in order to save more. I have added you to my blogsters list so that I can keep track of your progress. I noticed that you picked KO, JNJ, TGT, and T for your first stocks on your portfolio. That is a very good start and I wish you the best of luck!

  2. The fee-free investing at Loyal3 is great. I plan on opening a brokerage account with OptionsHouse as well. They have commissions under $5 which is reasonable and allows for more stocks from which to choose. I think TradeKing executes trades under $5 as well. Otherwise, Loyal3 has many great companies available. Hopefully, they add some more quality dividend-paying companies.

  5. MDLZ is a great stock for the long term. It actually came my way via spin off from KFT (now KRFT) not too long ago. Personally, I would have taken a look at higher yielding KRFT at this point in time. I know it is not a high growth stock but it does offer an attractive yield. MDLZ seems a bit pricey these days. I just added my recent buys for June on DivHut. You can see I was very focused on the financial sector. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Hey DH,
I agree that MDLZ is a little over priced but I do plan on holding this company for 20+ years unless they cut dividends. I do want to add a position in KRFT at some point. I have been taking a close look at T this month as well. I read your recent buys article and like all of those picks for this month. Thanks for the support!

    1. Hey Ryan
I am glad I opened an account with loyal 3. I am getting 1% cash back on my credit card and no trading fees are saving me a great deal of money. I am hoping to add a position with MCD, PEP, and TWX for the month of July. Thanks for stopping by and good luck on your journey to financial independece.
