Loyal3 Stock Buys of the Week Edition #6

Salem MA. "Old Burying Point"Cemetary

The foundation for my Loyal3 portfolio is getting stronger each week as I continue to add to fairly priced companies. However I do like to occasionally add to my SBUX, DIS, and PEP holdings. These three companies are great additions to the portfolio as a whole but are trading at a premium price. I should have been a little more aggressive when I added SBUX at $72/Share because I strongly believe this company will continue bringing excellent growth to my portfolio. As a beginner investor I need to stop second guessing myself and taking some of the opportunities that are given to me. DIS was another great company that was sitting at $81/Share just a couple of weeks ago. It quickly shot back up to $91/share and I feel like I could have been a little more aggressive there as well.
This week I was able to free up a little more capital so that I can invest a larger amount into some quality dividend paying companies. I have been itching to add to Time Warner on the dip for a while because I suspect they will be outperforming the broader market. I also took advantage of adding into KO and UL which I believe are fairly valued at the moment. As long as the price for KO and UL stay around $40/share, I will continue to add. If the price dips even further I will double down on these two core positions.

  1. Solid buys all around. I have added to my UL last week and earlier in the month to my TD and BNS. I think many dividend bloggers like UL around the $40 mark and the yield at those prices are very attractive as well. Keep on staying the course and don't kill yourself about not being more aggressive with some of those stocks you mentioned. Another opportunity is always down the road, next week, month, year, etc.

    1. DivHut,
I am going to hold some cash reserves in case of another correction. In the meantime I will continue to add shares to some of my core holdings. I feel like I am building a decent foundation for my portfolio. TD and BNS look good here and you cant go wrong with UL. Good luck with your November buys!

  2. Nice buys. I should have been more aggressive in my purchase of DIS through my L3 portfolio as well in early October but I was able to a decent amount for good prices. Just initiated a position in UL in my L3 portfolio although I already own a chunk in my regular portfolio. I think I'll be better served by DCAing in UL rather than looking for strategic buying opportunities. Really loving L3.

    1. Hey PIP,
Early October was a great buying opportunity. Like DivHut said, I am sure their will be other future events that will present discounts in the market. I need to DCA into UL and MAT for November. I am also looking at MCD. L3 seems to be working well and I wish I knew about it earlier.

  3. Good looking pickups here. As DivHut said, don't beat yourself up about not putting in as much as you wanted to earlier this month. I know I didn't put in as much as I wanted. I'll continue adding to UL at these prices and we will see where else my capital goes in Loyal3.

    1. I cant wait to see what your November buys are. I need yo average down a little into my MAT position. Other than that I still like UL at the $40-41 price range. Both offer really good yields. Good luck in November!

  4. Yet another solid buy week. I hope UL will continue at its current price for the next few months so I can initiate a position.

    1. Tawcan,
I wish we can predict which way UL will swing because if it goes lower I will have to average down even further. I missed a couple of opportunities to buy into TWX, DIS, VFC and AAPL last month. I should have went with my gut but I was waiting for a bigger correction than the 9% we got.

  5. DM,

Love the consistency. You're putting away some pretty serious capital regularly, which will surely allow your snowball to accelerate from here.

I like the UL buy in particular, and I'll most likely be buying more myself here pretty soon.

    Keep it up!

    Best regards.

    1. Hey Mantra,
UL has gained a ton of popularity the last couple of weeks. I feel good about the future gains and I am going to average down as well. It's been a crazy few weeks with energy stocks, correction, and ARCP. I love all the action because I feel like I am gaining experience. Thanks for the support. Look forward to seeing your next move in November.

  6. Solid. My recent buys were; K, HSY, INTC, PEP, MSFT, TGT - buying now to catch the next dividend cycle.

  7. Anonymous,
Thanks for stopping by! I have been thinking of the upcoming dividend for December as well. MAT, MCD, and UL all pay out in December so I might continue to buy up some more shares to take advantage of that. I like all your buys and HSY looks interesting. I was reading up on all the new innovative snacks they have lined up.

  8. Don't be too hard on yourself on missed opportunities. Hindsight is 20/20, and there will always be other opportunities to buy. :)

Loving the UL purchase. I've been busy picking up shares myself.

  9. Seraph,
You can't go wrong with adding to UL at these prices. I think my issue was I was trying to time the bottom of that recent correction and was expecting more than a 9% drop. I'll have some extra capital the next time it happens and I am focusing on other deals right now. I still see some fairly priced stocks in UL and VIAB right now. Thanks for stopping by and good luck on your future investments.

    1. My favorite buys are also UL and KO. I am hoping to add to both of these positions for the month of November. Even though KO is a little expensive, it wont really matter to the long term investor.

  11. Nice buys! Consistent with other comments, I like the Unilever buy in particular. After all, UL seems to be very popular among dividend stock investors these days. Keep up the progress!

    Wishing you the best! AFFJ

    1. Hey FFJ,
UL has certainly gained it's popularity in the past couple of weeks. I am going to keep buying up some shares here. I might also add into some of the other core stocks in my portfolio (MCD, KO, DIS, KRFT, and PEP) for the month of November. Good luck in November!

    1. FD,
I have been using L3 for a few months and have already build a mini portfolio with some great blue chips. I like the fact that you dont need a huge chunk of money to start investing. Although L3 will stop the usage of credit cards, I still see myself using it for the long term. Thanks for stopping by.
